What Is a Registered Holistic Nutritionist?
A Registered Holistic Nutritionist (RHN) uses food, eating habits, and
lifestyle practices to help balance the body and promote overall health. An
RHN views the body as a whole, seeking to uncover the root cause of
imbalances and support the body’s natural ability to heal itself. Care is
highly individualized, ensuring each person’s unique needs are addressed.
What Other Credentials Does Tammy Have?
In addition to being an RHN and having a Bachelor of Arts, Tammy is an
Oncology Nutrition Consultant (ONC). She works with individuals in
cancer prevention, during treatment to help minimize side effects and
enhance treatment effectiveness, and in post-treatment recovery. Tammy
also holds certifications in hormone health, gut health, and immune health
coaching. She belongs to two professional organizations, which grant her
the additional titles of Natural Nutrition–Clinical Practitioner (CNNP) and
Certified Functional Nutrition Practitioner (CFNP).
In terms of Cancer Support, what type of support can Tammy offer?
As an Oncology Nutrition Consultant, I provide one-on-one support
focused on nourishing and strengthening the whole body during and after
cancer treatment. Rather than focusing solely on the disease, I take a whole-
person approach that supports the body's overall health and resilience.
Through personalized nutrition and lifestyle strategies, my goal is to help
create an internal environment that is less supportive of cancer while
complementing medical treatment. I also work to help optimize treatment
outcomes, reduce side effects, and support long-term recovery and well-
being.
What Does Booking an Appointment With Tammy Look Like?
If you’re curious to learn more about how Tammy can support you and
what working together would look like, you can begin with a free 15-
minute consultation. From there, an initial appointment lasts 60 or 90
minutes, depending on your needs. You’ll complete an intake form so
Tammy can get to know you and begin making personalized
recommendations. Follow-up appointments are 30 or 45 minutes and focus
on building upon the initial steps discussed during your consultation.
What Are the Benefits of Booking a One-on-One Appointment With
Tammy?
Booking a one-on-one appointment with Tammy provides personalized
support tailored to your current health concerns, goals, and lifestyle.
What Type of Support Can Tammy Offer?
Tammy offers holistic support aimed at addressing imbalances and
supporting the body’s natural healing process. This may include physical,
emotional, and lifestyle guidance. She takes the time to truly get to know
each client, providing education and support where it’s needed most.
Tammy uses a food-first approach and, when appropriate, may also
recommend supplements to optimize results. All recommendations are
clearly explained so you understand the “why” behind them.
I Have a Specific Condition (e.g., Diabetes or an Autoimmune Disease).
How Will Tammy Approach This?
As a Registered Holistic Nutritionist, Tammy does not diagnose or treat
specific conditions. Instead, she focuses on the body as a whole, identifying
imbalances that may be contributing to health concerns. By supporting
balance within the body, the goal is to encourage healing and improvement
in symptoms.
Will Tammy Make Drastic Changes to My Diet or Take Away Foods I
Enjoy?
Tammy takes your current diet, preferences, and lifestyle into account
when working with you. Rather than making drastic changes, she creates a
realistic plan that works for you. Often, this begins by incorporating a few
new foods or simple dietary suggestions to better support your specific
needs.
How Does Tammy Approach Weight Loss?
Tammy views weight loss as a gradual, sustainable process that fits into
your lifestyle long-term. The focus is on creating positive health changes
that support not only weight loss now, but lasting wellness in the years
ahead. While this approach may take more time, the goal is for results that
are maintainable and supportive of overall health.
What Tools Does Tammy Use to Identify Imbalances and Understand My
Health?
Tammy uses detailed intake forms and imbalance worksheets to gain a
comprehensive understanding of each client’s health. These tools help
create a full-body picture and identify starting points for support. As a
Certified Functional Nutrition Practitioner, Tammy can also offer non-
diagnostic testing—such as gut, hormone, heavy metal, and nutrigenomics
testing—to further personalize protocols when appropriate.
Are Tammy’s Services Covered by Insurance?
Tammy’s services may be covered under some personal insurance plans
under “nutritionist” services and may also be eligible for coverage through
health spending accounts.
